Mainland Block Party Returns to Surulere with Club Mainland Headlined by Mayorkun, Reminisce, and Terry Apala

The Mainland Block Party promised to take fans to Mars, and they kept their word.

For one unforgettable night, Club Mainland came alive as tens of thousands of music lovers gathered for an electrifying edition of the Mainland Block Party, with Mayorkun, Reminisce, and Terry Apala leading a night filled with music, nostalgia, and pure Mainland energy.

Mayorkun, fondly known as the Mayor of Lagos, lived up to his title with a performance that quickly became one of the night’s standout moments. Taking fans through a catalogue packed with familiar hits, the singer created a nostalgic atmosphere as the crowd sang along to some of his biggest records.

Before stepping fully into his performance, Mayorkun playfully knocked out a few push-ups backstage, giving fans a hint of the energy he was about to bring to the stage.

He opened his set with the fan-favourite “Geng,” immediately sending the crowd into a frenzy before moving through other hits, including “B4 B4,” currently sitting at number one in the country.

From the first song to the last, Mayorkun kept the audience engaged, with fans singing back the lyrics and dancing along to the familiar sounds that have defined different eras of his career.

Reminisce brought a different kind of energy to the night, taking the audience back to some of Nigerian hip-hop’s most memorable moments. The rapper delivered fan favourites including “Local Rappers” and “Asalamalekium,” with the crowd matching his energy and rapping along word for word.

Terry Apala also left his mark on the stage with his unmistakable voice and playful interaction with the audience. His performance added another layer to an already diverse night of sounds, keeping the crowd entertained as the party continued.

The energy extended beyond the headline performances, with GodOver, BarryDHypeman, Shody The Turnup King, Titanium, and DJ Kas helping to keep the atmosphere alive throughout the event.

Rising acts Laskos Szn and Tiphe also took the stage, giving the emerging artistes an opportunity to connect with a large audience and showcase their sounds.

Beyond the music, this edition of the Mainland Block Party introduced a new feature designed to celebrate the people at the heart of the event, the Birthday Corner.

The new initiative gives guests whose birthdays fall within the month of the party an opportunity to celebrate in style. Selected celebrants can take pictures with a birthday cake inside a specially designed booth, turning the event into a personal celebration for Mainlanders as much as it is a music experience.

With its blend of heavyweights, emerging talent, DJs, crowd interaction, and new experiences, the latest edition of the Mainland Block Party once again demonstrated why the event has become a major fixture for music lovers on the Mainland.
